The voice. Hosting and interviews

Scope

One day

on site, up to 10 hours, one location

Festival and event hosting

You have a stage, a booth or a carpet and you need someone who can hold a room, think on their feet and get a usable answer the first time. I arrive briefed on every guest and I write my own questions.

  • Planning call and guest research
  • Question set written and approved in advance
  • Up to 10 hours on site, one location
  • Wardrobe, hair and makeup handled by me
  • Edit notes so your team knows what to cut first
  • Six months organic social usage

Good for

Cannes, SXSW, NYFW, conference keynotes, brand activations, awards carpets.

Scope

One sitting

60 to 75 minutes, long form

Founder and executive interviews

The sit-down where your founder is supposed to sound human and usually sounds like a press release. I build the arc first, then run 60 to 75 minutes so your editor has three good cutdowns instead of one safe one.

  • Story arc built with you beforehand
  • Prep call with the subject so nobody is cold
  • 60 to 75 minutes of conversation
  • Creative direction on the day
  • Pull-quote and cutdown map delivered after
  • Twelve months organic social usage

Good for

Founder profiles, leadership series, recruitment stories, podcast pilots.

The eye. Art direction

Scope

Four weeks

four to six weeks, one campaign

Campaign and series art direction

The look, the logic and the rules, built so your team can keep making work in it after I leave. This is the job I did for three seasons of Rising Voices.

  • Concept territories and a written rationale
  • Art direction across the key visuals
  • Typography, colour and image system
  • A toolkit your team can build from
  • Two rounds of revision inside scope
  • Art direction on one production day

Good for

Campaign launches, programme identities, event branding, pitch work.

Scope

Monthly

retained, three month minimum

Social-first creative system

For in-house teams shipping weekly. A repeatable format system so the channel looks designed instead of assembled, and standing creative direction so nobody is guessing on a Tuesday.

  • Format system across your priority channels
  • Templates and motion direction
  • Weekly creative review with your team
  • Quarterly refresh of the visual system
  • A direct line for in-flight creative calls

Good for

In-house brand and content teams building their own media operation.

Scope

Four episodes

idea to delivery, two production days

The owned series

The reason to hire one person instead of three. I build the format, design the look, write the arc, direct it and host it. You get a series with one voice running through every episode, and one person accountable for it.

  • Format and series concept
  • Full visual identity: titles, name plates, thumbnails
  • Guest strategy and booking support
  • Four episodes across two production days
  • Creative direction for your team or mine
  • Editorial direction through final cut
  • A social cutdown system for the whole season
  • Twelve months organic social usage

Most booked

Brands standing up their own show rather than buying media around someone else's.

How a project actually runs

Nothing on the day is a surprise, because all of it was agreed the week before.

Two weeks outScope, dates and deliverables signed. Fifty percent holds the day in my calendar.
One week outGuest list, run of show and the full question set land in your inbox for notes.
Two days outLocation and sound check, and a walk through the order with whoever is running the day.
The morningI am there early and ready. Wardrobe, hair and makeup are already handled.
First hourWe start with a warm one on purpose, so the room settles before the interview that matters.
MiddayWe look at what we have and I rebuild the back half of the day around whatever is missing.
WrapYou leave with a shortlist of the moments worth using first.
Two days afterThe cutdown map: which moments, which order, which quote carries each edit.
