Zest

It all started with the prompt, “What is experience? How do we know the value of a moment? In the millions of micro-experiences that we have every day, how do we find the ones that are important or worth remembering?”.

These are big questions. To start the process of determining our answer, we had to write down every single thing we did for 24 hours.

Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Procreate, Keynote

In the middle of my 48-hour task list was the line item, “talked to a friend about our friendship”, which got me thinking, what if friendship as a whole could be elevated and celebrated more?

Our society does so much to celebrate our romantic anniversaries, but what about friendships that we spend years building? This is where Zest was born. I wanted to create a friendship centric brand that fosters intentional experiences through different mediums to help sustain and strengthen friendships that last a lifetime.

The process for Zest began by writing down everything we did for 48 hours, and then use our own methodology to make sense of it. I chose to color code a timeline of my day to pick out patterns, draw conclusions, and begin narrowing down my top experiences. This led to brainstorming and creating a design proposal asking the question, what if friendship as a whole could be elevated and celebrated more?
